The Lifebuoy brand teams across the world have instigated projects that aim to inspire our consumers to improve their hygiene behaviour. One area of clear intervention has been to come up with positive messages that encourage our consumers to wash their hands. Each year 2.2 million children under 5 die from diarrhoeal diseases and another 1.9 million from acute respiratory infections. Yet studies estimate that hand washing with soap could reduce diarrhoeal disease by 42-46% - saving over one million lives a year – and reduce the risk of respiratory infections by 30-35%.
By spreading positive hygiene messages, the Lifebuoy projects Lifebuoy has instigated are already making a difference and helping to save lives. However, it is too big a task for any single organisation to tackle alone, and so the Lifebuoy brand team is partnering with public and private organisations that are equally committed to the cause of health and hygiene.
